The $5 Educational is an infinitely desirable type that shows an Allegorical group showing Electricity as the dominant force in the world (remember that oil wasn't yet an important part of daily life when this note was issued). Oh, the uproar this classic design, engraved by G.F.C. Smillie and designed by Thomas Morris, created to be "banned in Boston" by the Boston bankers' wives. This is the last signature combination, Lyons-Burke, and it has proven rather elusive and desirable for that reason alone. This beauty has unmistakable quality that should please virtually any serious collector. Graded Abt. New 53 by PCGS.
