A unique town with a bank in Clay County that issued only $5 Brownbacks. The bank was in business from 1886 to 1894, closing after printing 1,798 sheets of $5 Brownbacks and nothing else. By 1910, the bank's outstanding was shown at $235. A miniscule number for such a location. This note has excellent pen signatures of L.D. Fowler and M.C. Joslyn, but it is heavily worn. Restoration would help stabilize the condition, but it would still only attain the status of VG.
