$10 No Date B New York
Grade: Grade: Unexploded
This pack was punched out in the center in order to hold an explosive dye package in the event of a bank robbery. Tellers kept these in their cash drawers and when money was demanded without the proper forms, this bundle, along with some notes on either side to hide the device, was placed into the thief's bag. When he opened the bundle to count his loot, the dye pack would explode, spraying indelible ink everywhere, thereby assisting in his identification later. An interesting piece of currency history.
