Douglas was the only town in Converse County to host a National Bank, and it was home to two. This bank started 20 years after the First National Bank opened its doors and continued throughout the note issuing era. On the scarce side, with 14 large size known, this example is well used. It is however, surprisingly free of tears and pinholes, but there is a heavily soiled quarter-panel on the back. The signatures have also faded.
