This note was the subject of much conversation between Mort Melamed and fellow dealer/collector Dick Rudolph, but Mort was able to acquire it shortly before he passed in 1987. This bank was chartered in 1901 and closed in 1926. There has never been an example offered publicly until now and this appears to be the best of the four notes reported. Unfortunately the signatures have faded to barely more than a memory.
