According to the Kelly census, this is the second finest of eight $50 Red Seals on the state of Pennsylvania. This bank is on the scarce side as well, with just seven large notes reported by Kelly. This is the sole Red Seal known, even though 4,833 sheets of $5-$5-$5-$5 and $10-$10-$10-$20 Red Seals were printed in addition to the 1,080 sheets of $50-$100. This example exhibits heavy folds yet retains considerable crispness and its vivid color. Off the market since we last auctioned the note in 2002. Signed by David J. Ambler, Vice President, and Wm. A. Davis, Cashier. A real photo postcard showing the bank is included. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
