Today this is by far the finest known note from this Lamar County bank that was the only national bank in town. The bank was in business from 1901 to 1907 and printed 3,771 sheets total. Today there are only two large notes reported. This was a precious jewel in the Irish Collection and for those who had had it before. Steve and Marilyn Michaels acquired it in 2009 at $16,100 when many great Texas notes were sold. Lovely purple stamped signatures enhance the note.
