This was the city's seventh national bank. It was chartered in 1882 and liquidated in 1914. This was the successor bank to charter #97, the state's first national bank, but when the charter ran out they just took this new one, and unlike others they didn't look back. This is the best of the bank's first issue with the new charter and it's very attractive. Big margins and bold pen signatures make this even more desirable. The bank's president, D.M. Ferry, also owned the Ferry Seed Company that produced beautiful lithographed advertisements around the turn of the Century. The census shows 35 notes reported on the bank.
