Lovely Uncirculated Red Seal
National Bank Notes > Michigan
Hart, First NB, M6727
Fr. 613 $10 1902RS
Grade:
Ch. CU
This was the only national bank chartered in town and the year was 1903. This note is the finest of the three Red Seals that have survived that early issue. The bank closed 30 years later after issuing Blue Seals and small size as well, with nearly 30 of each reported. A.S. White, President and C.L. Feood, Cashier were the original bank officers. The red seal is bright and the paper is fresh with broad margins and the regional letter. If not for a single handling mark it's Gem. Acquired in 2005 at $8,050. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
