This banking charter was established in 1871 and just 10 years later the bank was no longer in business. Notes of this rarity and quality are extremely scarce to the marketplace and this Michigan collection offers more early rarities than I have seen in many years. This note, previously from the DeGood collection, is the finest of three known. By 1910 there was just $586 outstanding left on the government books for this bank. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
