National Bank Notes > Illinois
Danville, First NB, 113
Fr. 394 $5 Original
Grade:
XF/AU
This bank was a prolific issuer of $50s and $100s later in its life. They issued only a few first charter notes, and this is one of two survivors. A magnificent example of an original series note from a bank that has only two first charters saved out of 23 large notes reported. Its pen signatures of J.G. English and Palmer no doubt relate to the later Palmer Bank of Danville.
