This note last appeared in our November 2003 sale (Lot 2331) where it was described as: "This is only the third reported star note for this rare district. The rarity of this issue came out awhile back when a high grade note brought some $40,000. It will be interesting to see what the market is prepared to pay for the note offered here." In that sale the note realized $8,900 against an estimate of $7,500-$15,000. From the K.P. Austin Collection.
