K.P. Austin added this jewel to his collection from the Dean Oakes Collection where it was described as: "This jewel is one of only three uncirculated stars known on this district and denomination. One sold in Baltimore for $11,000 hammer. There are also three circulated notes known. Not surprisingly this note came from the Thompson Collection."
