Hillsdale hosted three national banks with the First National Bank being the only bank to issue Red Seals. Just 625 sheets were printed however, so it makes perfect sense that this Red Seal would be unique. The bank itself is only on the scarce side since there is a total of 12 large notes recorded in the Kelly census. The note is very nice looking with good color and one violet and one brown signature. On the back however, is a small, thin spot and a piece of tape that seems to serve no purpose. From my June 2007 auction where it brought $3,450. Super pen signatures of F.M. Stewart, President and C.F. Stewart, Cashier. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
