"January 22, 1862. Payable in Confederate Notes when presented in sums of $5, $10 and $20 at our counter in Keetsville, Missouri. Wm. McClure, President and J.T. Keet, Cashier". Unlisted and exceptionally rare. There is a postmark from Washington Prairie on the back. On February 25, 1862 there was a skirmish at Keetsville. Josiah T. Keet, an Englishman, was a storekeeper with Wm. McClure. Keets bought the mill in 1861 from Barton Clements and it burned down before the war ended. This Wm. McClure also had a second mill. In 1865 the town name was changed to Washburn, located near the Roaring Spring River.
