Black Back $100s are very rare and seldom offered except in top notch collections such as this. There are only 19 listed in collectors' hands. This note last appeared in our June 1999 sale, Lot 363. It appears the edges have seen some slight restoration (strengthening) to make sure it looked nice and would not easily continue to deteriorate. Lately the higher grades have brought over $200,000 making this a bargain by comparison.
