Notes from this Lancaster County Amish community rank among the most popular and unusual names ever associated with town names. This institution has the dubious distinction of bearing perhaps the most sought-after title in all of national currency. It is hard to imagine that the austere Mennonites of this Lancaster County hamlet intended to arouse the prurient interests of collectors nationwide when they gave their town its moniker. While there are 37 small notes reported in the census, it is a rare occasion when we get the chance to have Intercourse! There are no firm answers for the name, as it was originally Cross Keys in the 1700s. The title then evolved, but it is doubtful it came from people like me with their minds in the gutter. In any event, notes from here are eagerly-sought, and this lovely specimen comes from a short run of uncirculated notes.
