An impressive Lazy Deuce from this St. Lawrence County bank that was chartered in 1865, with this example being the best of the notes in the census. An early chartered institution, the bank lasted until 1897 when it bowed out. Just four notes are reported on an outstanding in 1910 of $4,800. A combination of rarity and beauty in a Lazy Deuce is mesmerizing to collectors and this note fits the bill. A beautiful specimen with blue-end paper and excellent pen signatures of Bloomfield Usher, President and Luke Usher, Cashier. Cut close only along the bottom right.
