Grade:
VF +
This large city in southern Michigan was home to four national banks, with all of them operating at the same time for a while. They all issued Red Seals too. The City National Bank was the least capitalized of the four and today is the scarcest with just six notes recorded. This is one of the two Red Seals known. It's high grade, free of blemishes and has excellent color. The stamped signatures of E.C. Dayton, President and Wm. R. Beebe, Cashier are very bold. This note brought $7,474 when we sold it in our November 2002 sale. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
