There are 11 Territorial notes known from this national bank, in the capital of Montana Territory. This bank existed from April 5, 1866 until September 1896, and all of the notes from this bank are Territorials. At the 1977 ANA, I went by Amon Carter's table where he showed me his "new purchase", a cut sheet of $1-1-1-2 on this bank. I bugged him about it until he finally gave me a price and I was able to secure it for a good friend from Montana. This note is not from that sheet, but it has very nice color, even circulation and excellent signatures. This is an important piece of Montana Territory banking history.
