National Bank Notes > Iowa
Davenport, First NB, 15
Fr. 387a $2 Original
Grade:

There are apparently four lazy deuces known from charter #15, the first national bank to open for business. As I recall they opened Saturday not Monday as it was supposed to be. This is a well-used example of the charter dated January 1, 1865. Signatures of J.E. Stevenson VP and Ira Merritt Gifford Cashier. Definitely a historic piece of paper.
