$1000 Bond Issued April 23rd, 1862, S/N 1220 out of 1600, Signed by Tyler. Lithographed, Black text with black border, C.G. Memminger looking right at center. VF condition with toning, "88" in pencil at top right corner. Rarity 4+ with 501 to 750 issued, 1600 issued. This bond bears the imprint of "Wagner & Co." Wagner was a Nashville, Tennessee printer whom Duncan recruited on 11-1-61 and brought to Richmond to work for him. Wagner did most of Duncan's bonds, to judge by the comparative superiority of their workmanship in comparison to Duncan's notes. The Memminger portrait faces to the viewer's right and differs from the one that Duncan used previously.
