Issued during the World War II German occupation. Seated woman/allegorical figures. A shortage of notes resulted in the quick overprinting of old Bank of France stock. According to WW II Remembered, "these notes circulated for only a short period and were withdrawn when Tunisia was liberated." PCGS terms this "VF 20 edge tears".
