Some Chance, winner National Stallion Stakes horse race, June 7, 1941. 17" x 14". The trainer for Some Chance was Ben A Jones (1882-1961), a legendary horse trainer with Woolford Farms in Prairie Village, KS in the 1930s and then the head trainer with Calumet Farms in Lexington, KY in the 1940-1950s. He was the first trainer to ever win 6 Kentucky Derby Races (until 2020) and also had 2 Triple Crown Winners, Citation & Whirlaway. These photographs were purchased from the estate of his son and also famous horse trainer, Horace A Jones (1906-2001).
