Abstempelungen, or "cancellations"; found in WWII Remembered on p. 35-38. These were stampings on older Belgian and German issues to convert those pieces for eventual destruction without hurting people who held them. Most were done very quickly by rubber stamp, in a matter of days. This group, from Belgium, France, primarily Germany, Netherlands, and Russia, is the merger of two large old time collections. Wonderful research opportunity with wide range of stampings. Various signs of circulation. Sold as is; no returns.
