Arkansas (Post) Bank of the State of Arkansas $5

Haxby AR-10 G62. Rothert 18-2. January 3, 1839. PCGS notes small edge splits and tears, minor stains. Arkansas Post was the first major settlement dating to 1686. A branch of the Bank of the State of Arkansas opened there on January 3, 1839, which not coincidentally is the date of this note. The entire statewide system closed in 1843. This is an excellent note with the Newman $5 note, grading Very Fine, selling for $920.
