As a general rule, larger denomination Fractional multiples are higher up on the rarity scale than are lower denomination notes. Second Issue 50¢ notes are no exception. We rarely see pairs, with a discolored AU 58 pair selling for $540 earlier this year. This block of eight notes is the only example of this variety that is even remotely this large in size. PCGS does note some minor mounting remnants but they are truly of no consequence. This is likely the only opportunity for one lucky collector to add this rare item to his holdings. After the hammer falls it will likely be years before it is seen again.
