Grade: PCGS Gem New 65 PPQ
A screaming gem example of a number that is rarely found in this state of preservation. PCGS has graded a total of 3 at this level and a single note at the 66PPQ grade level. A stunning note worth in the upper hundreds of dollars on its own merits. What makes this note a bit of an enigma is the "S" surcharge on the back. A couple of the hobby's most advanced fractional specialists have weighed in about whether they believe the "S" surcharge is inverted with differing opinions. It looks like it's certainly possible but we don't want to weigh in with an opinion.........we will let the bidders decide. The reason that this is so important is that if it is an inverted "S" then it would be a unique or nearly unique error note.
