These solid surcharge, fiber paper Fessenden notes were particularly hard and brittle, picking up cracks and tears rather easily. For whatever reason, the notes with the "a" position indicator were especially susceptible to these issues. CU examples are essentially nonexistent with even AU pieces extremely tough to obtain. This note is really bright and well margined compared to most that we come across, with the mere mention of some back hinge remnants placing it well above the fray of damaged examples.
