This is one of the finest quality notes on this bank. Excellent pen signatures J.P. Hieronymus, President and J.H. Stroud, Cashier. Atlanta was founded in 1853 as Xenia and experienced early growth, receiving a name change in 1855. The town was frequented by Abraham Lincoln in the late 1850s and visited by his presidential campaign. The Atlanta National Bank was organized in 1877 and survived through the end of the National Banking Era.
