Grade:

This Howard County locale started out as Big Springs, then in approximately 1916 the town simply dropped the "s". A note that not even J.L. Irish could locate, this Type 2 five has a couple of small splits at top margin. Chartered in February 1934, the bank only issued Type 2 fives and tens, as it had also assumed the circulation of both the earlier Big Spring(s) banks which would both be liquidated on March 19, 1934.
