Fractional Currency
Fr. 1329 50¢ Third Issue Amanuensis Signatures
Grade:
PCGS Ch. Abt. New 58
A very nice example of this hand-signed Allison-Spinner that simply has a corner tip fold accounting for the grade. What makes this particularly desirable is the signatures. Neither the Allison nor the Spinner signatures were signed by those actual people. Anyone familiar even vaguely with fractional currency knows what those signatures look like and these are not them. Instead these would have been signed by an amanuensis, a person who signs a document or something similar under the authority of that person. These are actually quite rare as such and worthy of considerable attention.
