I was thrilled when I got the call about this wonderful addition to the Oklahoma and Indian Territory census. Porter is a two-bank town and the other bank issued only Territorials and remains unknown. This bank was chartered in 1905 and issued just 700 sheets of Indian Territory Red Seals, and none were known until now with this pleasing Fine, or maybe Fine +, note. It has excellent centering and a bold red seal. The cashier pen signed his name, but if the president signed it's not readable. There is only one Blue Seal state note known in large size, all others have gone unearthed, spent or redeemed. This town, in Wagoner County, is not far from Tulsa. Well naturally it's eastern Oklahoma, that's why it's Indian Territory. For some reason it seems like Indian Territory notes have seen more use than Oklahoma Territorials, but that may be in my mind.
