National Bank Notes > New York
Cooperstown, Second NB, 223

Four national banks called Cooperstown home, and this bank was the largest, circulating over $3.3 million during its existence. One of the most desirable notes they issued was this artful $5 Brown Back. If one looks closely one can see some folds, but they are well hidden. Large size reported stand at 28 pieces. By my reckoning, this is the finest Second Charter on the bank, if not the best large size, period.
