National Bank Notes > New York
Union Springs, First NB, 342
Fr. 380 $1 Original
Grade:
VG
Union Springs, a tiny village on the shores of Lake Cayuga, was home to this one national bank. The bank is prohibitively rare, with a single $1 (Ex-Shiva) being offered three times in the last 16 years. The census data shows three notes are recorded, but neither this note nor the unique $2 Original has ever made it to a public sale. The deuce is reported to be in poor condition, while this note is equal to, or just a tad better than the Shiva example. The signatures are faded but still readable, and the note has some minor flaws commensurate with the grade. An opportunity to add a really rare note to your collection.
