Here is a rare note from a one-bank town in Thompkins County that has just three large and three small notes in the census. It has been eight years since a note of any kind from this small town has crossed the auction block. That 2003 appearance was this very note when it sold for $7,475. This bank is not any easier to obtain today than it was then. The outstanding large size in 1935 amounted to just $790.
