The main industry located in Holyoke is the production of paper and paper products, just not banknote paper. That is done by Crane & Co. over in Dalton, Massachusetts about 50 miles away. It is something when a high-grade $10 1875 has competition for the honor of best note on the bank in a sale, but this gorgeous serial #1 Blue Seal presents that $10 with a challenge. Not previously recorded in the census, this totally original note was folded in half twice and put away. The paper is bright, without any dirt, and the pen signatures are wonderful.
