National Bank Notes > Ohio
Akron, First NB, 27
Fr. 380 $1 Original
Grade:
VF/XF
This is one of the scarcest of the first 100 charters ever. Being offered once before, this note was discovered in 2009. The note is quite attractive, but the top trim isn't quite perfect. The penned signatures of T. W. Cornell, President, and W. H. Huntington, Cashier, are very clear. This note also has one of the lowest Treasury numbers of any I've seen, #2808, and bank sheet #786. While the census shows seven notes known, this is the only one to appear since 1973.
