A well used, but evenly circulated Red Seal from one of Texas' interesting family-named banks. The note is signed by John Woods, President and W. F. Woods, Cashier, keeping it in the family. For some reason, this town has had a number of successful family titled banks over the years. They include the Lockwood NB, the Groos NB, the Frost NB and this Woods NB. This small institution was chartered in 1904 and lasted only until 1907, issuing just 5,942 sheets of Red Seals. There are only 4 notes reported. Included is a note from Philpott with a $20 price tag!
