National Bank Notes > Kansas

Grade:
XF/AU
This is one of the great family named banks in Kansas. Arguably not as good as the Moffett of Larned, but this note is much prettier and not as rare. There are two other Red Seals known, but only in VG. Long before this note was issued this bank was involved in a robbery attempt by the Dalton gang in 1892. At the time, the gang tried to rob both town banks but a fire fight ensued, leaving four people and four bandits killed, including Thomas Ayers, President of the First National Bank. Eighty bullet holes were found in this bank from this episode.
