Very Rare Uncirculated 1776 North Carolina Note
Colonial Currency > North Carolina
NC-163b $6 April 2, 1776
Grade:
PCGS Ch. New 63 PPQ
We are not quite sure if a legitimately uncirculated example exists of this April 1776 issue but all of the research we have done has shown nothing above the AU grade. This note is as bright as the day it was printed and it has retained four bold signatures. A low serial #315 only enhances the value of this piece. This is the variety with the squirrel eating nut vignette and it is one of the prettiest pieces of Colonial currency we have seen. Newman values this at $1,000 in VF with no higher grade given. Decent AUs of this denomination are four-figure items and we fully expect that a note of this caliber is going to shoot to the moon and back before the hammer finally falls.
