Colonial Currency > New Jersey
NJ-113 6 Pounds November 20, 1757
Grade:
PMG Choice Fine 15
An astounding example of this rare denomination which had a meager printing of only 1,100 with very few survivors. This is not to be confused with many of the other New Jersey issues of the 1756-1776 time period; this one is scarce in all grades. This wonderfully printed and boldly detailed example faces up like a glorious Very Fine which would not surprise us as PMG is notoriously tight on grading these earlier Colonial issues that don't have wonderful paper quality. Newman values this at $500 in Fine and $1,000 in Very Fine and it would not surprise this cataloger to see a four figure price considering that this very same note sold for $805 just a couple of years ago.
