Rare uncancelled state. Fine paper fibers are seen on this gorgeous experimental back that has T-1-18-63 surcharges (like Fr. 1249) and on the back a large bronze oval. The paper is fresh and bright with embossing clearly visible and the ink colors bright. A lovely piece which certainly seems like an admirable candidate for the Gem grade. In Ford XIX, lot 236, there was an identical example of this type graded Ch. Abt. UNC. It brought $1,035 that day and five years later in a more sophisticated market this one will most definitely bring much more.
