"Aut Nunquam Tentes Aut Perfice (Either Finish or Never Begin)" is the motto found on this note. The Latin mottos found on these later issue North Carolina notes are quite interesting and an intriguing study all on their own. A well embossed example of this much scarcer high denomination note that lists for $750 in XF and $450 in VF in the Newman reference. Virtually the same grade as lot #18517 of the recent Heritage sale and that note realized $632.50 in VF.
