NC-136a 2 Shillings 6 Pence December 1771
Grade:
PCGS Very Ch. New 64 PPQ
An absolutely flawless example with some of the freshest and brightest paper you will find. While the grade on this note is common enough what makes this so special is the lack of the ubiquitous bundle hole at the top of the note. The reason these 1771 notes so often come in high grade is that there were many sheets bundled together and this denomination was always at the top of the sheet. For that reason, 99% of the 2 Shillings/6 Pence notes that you see will have a hole at the top of the note; this one does not.
