This bank, the sole issuer in Colorado County, is extraordinarily rare in large size and just plain tough in small with ten recorded examples. The bank, chartered in 1904, issued only $50 s and $100 s up until the 1929 series, when they saw the need for a few smaller denominations and issued 132 sheets of Type One $10 s. They completed their small size issue with 96 sheets of $50 s and 30 sheets of $100 s. In total, the bank printed 2,304 large notes (not sheets!) and 258 sheets of small size. That is a miniscule printing by any standard. This is the first low denomination example auctioned as best we can tell. A great Texas name.
