This aptly named town on the shore of Lake Superior is set between Burlington Bay and Agate Bay. It is the seat of Lake County and hosted two National Banks. The First NB with the low charter was organized in 1902 and closed about three years later. It remains unreported. Fortunately for the name collectors, a second attempt in 1923 was a success, with the bank issuing 1902 Plainbacks and small size $5, $10 and $20 notes in both types. We are pleased to offer a fully bright and crisp example that is free of defects.
