Kansas is replete with suggestive town names, and no doubt prairie was all the early settlers saw when they came to this remote part of Kansas. The town s population in 1920 was less than 200, prompting the only bank in town to issue just 2,108 sheets of large notes. This translated to a large size outstanding in 1935 of a mere $870. Of the five recorded serial numbers, it appears that only a single note has ever made it to the public scene in the last 15 years. Small notes are almost as difficult. This example has been in strong hands for decades, so I expect it will be well received.
