ONE OF TWO LARGE KNOWN
National Bank Notes > New York
Marlboro, First NB, E8834
Fr. 626 $10 1902ND
Grade:
Fine
Small notes on this charter surface from time to time, but large examples are truly rare. Both the Kelley census and Track & Price list just two notes. They are this piece, which was last auctioned in 2007, and another $10 1902 Plain Back in Good/VG that has not appeared in a public sale for at least the last 20 years. Fortunately, this note is a solid Fine and quite acceptable, considering there is no other choice. Less than 5,000 sheets of large notes were printed, and the large size outstanding in 1935 was $720. The bank signatures are very weak, but they are there.
