National Bank Notes > Massachusetts
Gloucester, City NB, 2292
Fr. 401 $5 1875
Grade:
VG
This large-only bank closed its doors in 1912, unable to compete against the larger Cape Ann NB and Gloucester NB. Although well used, this example still shows good detail and strong colors. The pen signatures are clear and the margins complete. There are several small tears and pin holes, but they are not that obvious. There are 14 notes known on the bank and about half of them are First Charters, yet there has not been one available at auction in over 3 years.
